2014 is on it’s way, what are your goals for the new year?

NYreSOLUTIONS

As so often happens going into the holiday season, it is hard to believe that a new calendar year is nearly upon us. In a few days we will celebrate Thanksgiving, and soon after projects will come to a close and year-end reports will be completed and submitted.

Now is also the prime time to start reflecting on the past 11 to 12 months—to dream up a goal based on reflection, a way of simply improving oneself rooted in what was learned throughout 2013. What were your success stories? What area or areas of your life do you feel could be improved by setting a new goal or goals?

The following are some additional questions to ask yourself to get your wheels turning. It might be best to write your answers in a journal so that you can look back in a few days to remind yourself, or in another year to see how you have grown.

·         What are some simple steps you can do to improve the area or areas you feel could be positively changed?
·         How well have you balanced different areas of your life (i.e., work, family, friendships, mental health, physical health), and what can you add, remove or adjust to add more balance?
·         What were some goals you set for yourself at the beginning of 2013? What accomplishments or strides have you made?
·         Overall, where do you see yourself this time next year?

Now that you’ve answered these questions, begin to set a concrete goal or goals for 2014. And if you are up for sharing, we’d love to hear what you decide on. Please share your reflections and goals with us at info@forefrontmag.com.

We asked some of our featured executives and contributors to share their personal reflections and goals for the year ahead. Over the next three weeks, enjoy posts from Lucy Kalkman – Empire Today, Erik Wahl – author of “UnThink” and many more on their New Year’s reSOLUTIONS.
